According to a survey conducted in May, 2004 by the Statistical Society of the Renmin University, of the 2000 students polled from more than 14 college campuses across the country, China Campus came on top of the “most influential publications regarded by the college students” for its “unique and clear positioning” and its “content that covers nearly almost every aspect of a typical college student, such as academic study, future careers, relationship and day to day life”.

How
To cater the needs of 20 million students across the country, China Campus has grown over the years both in terms of strength and popularity. In 2003, it became a bi-weekly full colored magazine after a span of 15 years as a monthly issued single color publication. Total circulation of each issue is estimated at 150,000 or so (given the fact that most students live in a college provided dorm room, often shared by 8 people, the number of actual readers could be higher). Readership also synchronizes the academic calendar, i.e. more people buy and read the magazine during school days than on vacations.

Many subscribers are college libraries, students unions, university administration offices.

The magazine’s popularity has also drawn constant attentions from the political leadership of the country. Premier Li Peng of the State Council wrote a personal message of congratulations on the eve of the magazine’s birth encouraging it to “serve as a channel to promote democracy and dialogue.” Many others have accepted interviews, speeches invitations or contributed articles to China Campus.

Internationally, China Campus has over the years made its footprints in many renowned leading institutions of higher education. Presidents and Vice Chancellors of foreign universities have accepted our invitations for interviews and speeches, or become our subscribers. Our staff have made visits to France, Ireland, New Zealand, United States, Japan, Korea, Singapore, United Kingdom, Russia.
